Licensing of ADSelfService Plus

In order to use ADSelfService Plus, the product license needs to be purchased and applied. After an ADSelfService Plus license is purchased, you'll receive an email containing the ADSelfService Plus license file. This section will explain the:

Types of ADSelfService Plus editions :

ADSelfService Plus is available in four editions: Evaluation, Free, Standard and Professional.

Evaluation edition: When you install ADSelfService Plus for the first time, the Evaluation edition will be installed. It offers all the features available in the Professional edition and can be used free for 30 days. After 30 days, it is automatically converted to the Free edition unless a Standard or Professional edition license is purchased and applied. For purchasing the license or any licensing related questions, please contact sales@manageengine.com. The license file will be sent through email.

The features offered in the Evaluation, Free, Standard and Professional editions are listed below:

Evaluation Free Standard Professional
  1. Supports unlimited users
  2. Expires in 30 days
  3. Supports all features of the Professional edition and Endpoint MFA add-on
  1. Supports up to 50 domain users
  2. Never expires
  3. Does not include MFA for cloud applications or add-ons except for the Endpoint MFA add-on, which is available for up to 10 users by default.
  1. Supports an unlimited number of domain users
  2. Annual or perpetual subscription
  3. Supported features:
    1. Web-based self-service password reset and account unlock
    2. MFA for self-service password resets/account unlocks and cloud application logins
    3. Password expiry notifier
    4. Password policy enforcer
    5. Real-time password synchronizer
    6. Password reset using ADSelfService Plus' iOS or Android app, or via mobile browser
    7. Self-service directory update, employee search, organization chart, and self-service group management
    8. Passwordless authentication for cloud applications
    9. Endpoint MFA add-on (for up to 10 users)
  1. Supports an unlimited number of domain users
  2. Annual or perpetual subscription
  3. Offers all features of the Standard edition, and:
    1. Password reset from Windows, macOS, and Linux logon screens
    2. Conditional access
    3. Cached credentials update for remote password reset
    4. Password policy enforcement in Windows Change Password page and ADUC
    5. Endpoint MFA add-on (for up to 10 users)
Note: ADSelfService Plus also offers additional features you can purchase separately as add-ons such as:

Endpoint MFA Includes MFA support for machines (Windows, Linux, macOS); VPN and other network endpoints using RADIUS; and OWA and other IIS web applications

Available for free for up to 10 users across the Free, Standard and Professional editions.

Types of ADSelfService Plus subscriptions

Annual subscription : As the name suggests, this offers product use for a period of one year. For continued access to the product, the license needs to be renewed annually. Annual subscriptions are available for both the Standard and the Professional editions of ADSelfService Plus. Prices for the annual subscription include the annual maintenance and support fees.

Perpetual subscription : Once purchased, the perpetual subscription need not be renewed. Clients only have to pay the annual maintenance and support fees. Perpetual subscriptions are available for both the Standard and the Professional editions of ADSelfService Plus.

How to apply the license file and upgrade the ADSelfService Plus edition

  1. Open the ADSelfService Plus admin portal.
  2. Click the License link in the top-right corner. This will open up the License Details pop-up window.
  3. Click Browse, and select the appropriate license file (License.xml).
  4. Click Upgrade to upgrade the Evaluation or Free edition to the Standard or Professional edition.
